The ground breaking service for our new church building and retirement residence was held on Tuesday July 13. We welcomed guests from the Town of Aurora, Succession Development Corp., and Amica Senior Lifestyles. Also with us were Dana and Scott Gibeau. Dana is the granddaughter of the late Doris Videan. Together with members of our Church Council, Board of Trustees and EDGE Property Committee, representing the congregation, we were able to take another step towards the reality of our new church home.
Bob Kyriakides recorded the service and you can watch it below.
Thank you to everyone who made this a very special day in the life of AUC.

Dana is the granddaughter of the late Doris Videan who was at the time of the United Church's fire the parish's eldes parishioner. Videan, who died April 13, 2017 at the age of 100, aimed to be the first person to turn the sod on the new church once the time came and her family made sure she was there in spirit.
