Volunteers are needed for the Aurora Community Cafe. The Cafe is a non-profit, partnership of local churches and a NFP coffee catering vender - Commons Coffee from the Newmarket Farmer’s Market that operate every Saturday from May to October. The purpose of the cafe is to provide opportunity for adults with differing abilities to learn to prepare food, serve and customer relations. The cafe is in the hall of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church at the corner of Mosley and Victoria Street, with entrance off of Victoria, on Wednesdays from 10 am-2 pm. Every Wednesday you can enjoy baked items and great coffee as well as a light lunch in an inclusive environment that creates space for the community to meet, while listening to great music provided by our dedicated DJ - Jeffrey. Volunteers will be helping one or two individuals with the tasks of setting up the cafe, preparing the coffee, tea, helping the individuals with taking orders from customers, receiving payments and giving change from 9:15 am - 2pm every Wednesday from mid-October to the middle of June. Some of our volunteers help in the kitchen if needed and cleaning up by 2pm. If you are interested in volunteering at the cafe, please contact: acommunitycafe@gmail.com or send a message to https://www.facebook.com/auroracommcafe
Drop by St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church on Wednesdays from 10 am to 2 pm for a pop-up, non-profit café serving fair trade coffee, tea, lunch items and fresh baked goods. The café is a social enterprise partnership, involving local churches and volunteers from non-profit coffee catering and community members. Our purpose is to offer work skill opportunity for adults with differing abilities in an inclusive environment and to create a space for the community to meet, connect, and enjoy coffee with a conscience. There will be a DJ and live music ongoing. Each person visiting can purchase their items using cash only.
Hope to see you there!
