Dear friends,
I hope all is well with you.
This year marks the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration and death camp. In honour of International Holocaust Remembrance Day, the Toronto Holocaust Museum has planned a meaningful afternoon of programming on Sunday, January 26 from 1pm to 4pm. The day will include a guided tour reflecting on the history and significance of Auschwitz as well as a thought-provoking talk with award-winning author Kathy Kacer, who will share insights on adapting Holocaust survivor Max Eisen’s best-selling memoir By Chance Alone (2016) for young readers.
Max devoted his time to Holocaust education for decades, speaking about the dangers of hatred and discrimination to promote a more peaceful future. The program also offers an opportunity to further reflect on Max’s story of survival and resilience through a thoughtful installation that encourages deep engagement with the history and its lessons.
Don’t miss this chance to learn, remember, and reflect together.
