Lillian Hunter (nee Dodd) who was born in Kennedy, Saskatchewan, passed away October 2, 2024, just two days short of her 103rd birthday. She left us quietly in her sleep at Andy’s House (Hospice Muskoka) in Port Carling. Lillian was partner, wife and best friend to Rev. John Hunter (who served Aurora United Church from 1969-1977), predeceased her in 1987. They were active and lived in many communities in Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario but the constant in their lives was Muskoka. Lillian lived on Walkers Point Road, in the town of Gravenhurst and finally at the Manor in Gravenhurst. She will be missed by her daughter Mary-Lou (David) and son Jason. Beloved Grandmother to Dan Clark and Kelly-Anne Clark. Lillian is survived by great-grandchildren Milo, Madison, Avery, and Sadie, as well as their mother, Melanie. She is also survived by great-grandchildren Abigael and Penelope, and their father, Ryan.
Her loss will be mourned by many from the Dodd family, especially her niece Marlee Collins (Carl). Lillian was the matriarch of the Hunter family, many of whom visited her or kept in touch with letters and cards regularly. Throughout her life she was an active member of many United Church congregations, community organizations and in her later years the Gravenhurst Seniors Centre.
