Ontario Election 2025

Ontario Election: February 27, 2025

Elections are important in a democracy.

The Ontario election is happening at a time and in such a way that many of the important issues that should be addressed are being overshadowed by tariff and trade issues and the shortness of the campaign.

As United Church people we are called to seek justice and live with respect in Creation. We hope you will take the time to examine some key issues that affect the common good of building an inclusive community that respects the dignity and well-being of all our citizens.

Enclosed you will find an election resource provided by ISARC, a provincial interfaith coalition which examines social policy and housing issues. You may also wish to consider a report card from the Ontario Health Coalition and voter information from ISAC, a provincial legal clinic, which informs first time voters about how to register to vote.

Please use these materials in all candidate meetings, or conversations with candidates and neighbours.

As well, please join the United Church Zoom conversation on Sunday, February 23 at 3:00 pm – 4:15 pm as we discuss what is at stake in this election (registration information below).

On behalf of the Social and Ecological Justice Commission,
Susan Eagle.
