Ivor Roberts Community Centre

On Saturday October 3, members of the Aurora United Church, Oakwil Board of Directors and Oakwil residents gathered at Oakwil to re-name the community as the Ivor Roberts Community Centre. Ivor served as a member of the Oakwill Board and then as their president until his death earlier this year. What a wonderful way to remember Ivor and the relationhsip he had with the community of Oakwil.

The dedication ceremony was led by Bill Newman (current president of the Oakwil Board) and included tributes from Dave Hanna (Corporate Secretary of the Oakwil Board), Helen Roberts, and  Rev. Lorraine. Rev. Andy offered the words of dedication.

We hoped that In this time of Covid-19, a general invitation to the congregation was not issued because of the gathering limits at Oakwil prescribed by the public health restrictions.
